Mizzou baseball falters in rubber match, loses series to LSU

After getting run-ruled Friday, Missouri bounced back with a one-run win Saturday to give itself a chance to take a crucial series against LSU, but the Tigers faltered in Sunday’s important rubber match,

Mizzou (18-23, 6-12 Southeastern Conference) maintained its spot in the current SEC Tournament field, but LSU (25-16, 5-13) closed the gap between the two teams to one game and now owns the head-to-head tiebreaker.

LSU jumped on Missouri early and often in the opening game of the series, winning 12-1 in seven innings. The Bayou Bengals scored in each of the first four innings, including six times in the third inning.
