Astros Take Another Pounding in New York, 9-4

Well, the Astros are improving.

They lost by seven runs on Monday.

They only lost by five tonight.

It’s hard to say which is worse, the Astros offense or the Astros pitching.

The Astros’ pitching, led by “ace” Justin Verlander, allowed ten runs last night. Tonight, the staff allowed nine runs, led by starter Spencer Arrighetti’s five runs on eight hits and three walks. His season ERA is 8.44.

Except for one clean inning from Rafael Montero tonight, none of the pitchers the Astros have thrown out there have been able to contain the Yankees hitters.
